A referral from a GP, Paediatrician or Psychiatrist is not needed to attend counselling. However, Medicare rebates are available for eligible clients if you have a Mental Health Care Plan referral from one of these professionals.

must see one of these professionals prior to your first appointment to access Medicare rebates. Talk to your GP to determine if you are eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan (you will need to book a longer appointment to assess eligibility)

Having a Mental Health Care Plan means your out-of-pocket costs are reduced. Eligible clients will be able to access the rebate for up to 10 sessions within a calendar year. Should you continue treatment after using all 10 sessions, any consultations will attract the full fee.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

We provide services to Self-Manage and Plan Managed NDIS participants. We require all clients that are using NDIS funds to complete a service agreement with us; this agreement sets out the goals of our work together and the costs of those services. You will receive this as part of your Intake and Consent package.

The NDIS provides support to eligible people with intellectual, physical, sensory, cognitive and psychosocial disability. Early intervention supports can also be provided for eligible people with disability or children with developmental delay.

To access NDIS services and become a participant you must:

  • Be an Australian citizen, or hold a permanent visa or a Protected Special Category visa,

  • Reside in Australia

  • Be aged less than 65 years old when initially entering NDIS

  • Have a permanent disability that significantly impacts your ability to participate in everyday activities

To check if you are eligible click here go to www.ndis.gov.au/applying-access-ndis/am-i-eligible

If you meet the criteria and you would like to become a NDIS participant, call 1800 800 110 and ask to make an Access Request.

If you have private health insurance, you might be eligible for rebates, but this will depend on your specific coverage. So it’s best to check with your insurance provider. Keep in mind that you cannot claim both Medicare and private health fund rebates for the same session.
